Visits and Tours
As a Society, we are keen to offer our members, visits and tours to see some of the very best horticultural spectacles.
All Island Garden Competition Tour
Each July, after our All Island Garden Competition, we run a minibus tour around the island. Members are invited to come and see some of the best gardens that were entered into the competition. This tour is usually held in the afternoon, on the second Sunday after the competitions (which is usually the first Sunday in August).
We are always keen to offer our members – visits to places of interest. As such, visits in the past have been to La Mare Wine Estate to see how cider is made, and to Brian Adair’s organic farm where he offered our plot holders lots of organic growing advice. If you have a suggestion for a future visit, please let us know.
Tours further afield
The Society is in touch with travel agents who offer tours to some of the most beautiful gardens around the world. Whether it’s a trip to the UK for the Chelsea or Hampton Court Flower Show, or further afield to Monet’s Gardens in France of the stunning gardens of China – we can point you in the right direction.
We are always on the lookout for beautiful gardens to hold Open Garden coffee mornings or afternoons. If you are able to welcome us to your beautiful garden, we’d love to hear from you.
For more information on any of the above, please visit the News & Events page on the Home Page of the website, or contact the Horticultural Secretary on firstname.lastname@example.org or 866555.
